Happy Halloween!

 

We went to our Ward Halloween party over the weekend. My sister bought Miley the cutest little princess dress to wear for her Halloween costume, and since we are cool like that, Justin and I wore costumes too. I'm not the most creative person, so I end up being a witch pretty much every year. I tried to find Justin a "Prince Charming" costume to match little Miley, but again, since I am not creative, he ended up being Dracula; a cape, white shirt, black pants...easy. Justin was a good sport and let me go to town painting his face and spray painting his hair. We had fun getting together with our ward friends, and we won the prize for the "scariest" costumes. We just can't get enough of these little ones!

It's My Party, and I'll Cry if I Want To!

Miley was invited to her very first birthday party today. My friend Jocelyn had a baby a couple weeks after me, and she threw a 1 month old birthday party for her little girl Taylor. One of my favorite things about being in Logan is becoming a mom at the same time as all my friends so we have excuses to get together and play with all our girls! Jocelyn got little princess tierras, and made birthday cup cakes. We just had so much fun laughing and snapping endless pictures of our babies in their birthday crowns! I don't think baby Taylor enjoyed the photo session as much as we did;) At the party, Miley got to sit in Taylor's special chair;) Miley and her girlfriends...baby Rory-4 months-Left,baby Miley-2 months-middle, baby Taylor-1 month-right.

Family Fun Day In Logan Canyon

 

Saturday is Family Fun Day at the Madsen's. Miley, Justin and I decided to Hike to the Wind Caves in Logan Canyon, and enjoy the last few days of sunshine in Cache Valley. We turned my CamelBak into a diaper bag and headed up the mountain, well, I should say I huffed and puffed up the mountain while Justin joked about calling me in a oxygen mask.:) Miley slept the whole way up. she woke when we arrived at the caves just long enough to spit up down the front of Justin's shirt (pay back for making fun of me), get a new diaper, and her picture taken. Then she fell back to sleep, and snored the whole way down. What a trooper! It really was a fun hike, and nice to get fresh air and exercise.

Our little baby girl is 2 months old today! Like I have said before, time is flying! We are honestly loving everyday with this precious little one. Miley is such a sweet baby. She has a very calm and happy disposition. She is making our lives as parents easy and fun:) A few of her favorite things... -Bath time! -play time with her Dad -Her colorful star that lights up and sings -Her swing, and the pink flowers that hang from the mobile on top -Being held, and talking to her Momma:) The things she doesn't like... -Hiccups!(they rock her whole body!) -Having an empty tummy...Look out... Miley's looks JUST like her DAD! Everywhere I go I hear about how much she resembles Justin. She is like his little clone. (Lucky girl!) She has also started to smile a lot lately. When I go in her room to get her up from her nap she gets a huge grin and starts kicking her legs like she just can't wait for me to pick her up. It makes me feel like a million bucks;) She is so darling! She has started sleeping more through the night-NOT THROUGH the night- but LONGER hours in between waking up to eat which is always a good thing. She also has longer nap times during the day. We have a routine we follow each day that helps her stay a happy and healthy baby. (Thank you for the tips and advice Jill!) I LOVE being a mom. I am trying to enjoy each stage she goes through, and just soak up every second with her I can!

This Week's Happenings

My sister Celeste Flew in from California and spent a few days with us. Since Celeste was in town my mom stayed too. All of us went hiking, shopping, out to lunch, est. There was up all night long conversations, laughing, crying, hugging, and basically just a lot of estrogen in the house (probably more than Justin could handle). But the girls had a good time of course. Miley Caught some sort of virus that has caused her to have a rash pretty much covering her whole body...eyelids, ears, everywhere...So she has been doing a lot of this... Justin had his interview at Dal (which he felt went really well) and then caught up with the boys at the USU vs. BYU football game. I guess because I am the supportive wife that I am it has to be said, GOOO COUGS!! Then to top of such a fabulous week, we had ourselves an awesome General Conference weekend with the whole Madsen Crew. Justin's family came up to watch Conference with us. It was so funny to watch all the boys fight over who gets to hold Miley next. Usually Justin's Dad (Scott) would be the one holding her. If Scott and Miley are in the same room, you can count on him being the one with her in his arms. Miley LOVES her Grandpa! We had a pumpkin carving contest, which Justin and I lost, and so much fun just laughing and teasing each other. It was one of the last times we all have to be together before Justin's younger brother Josh heads off on his mission.
