We have lived in Nova Scotia for almost 9 months now.
Sometimes I can't believe it.
It has gone by so fast.
Some of the time if felt like one very long roller coaster ride.
After all this time I am starting to feel comfortable, and maybe, just maybe I might be getting the hang of it.
I am getting better at handeling the distance from family and friends back home.
I am getting better at handeling the distance from family and friends back home. I am getting used to Justin's school schedule, and I just might be getting used to having two kids and running a household again.
I am no longer completely surrounded by the examples of Latter Day Saint women.
I am learning to BE the example of a Latter Day Saint Woman.
I am applying the things I learned while I was young, and I am proud to say that each day I am becoming more like my mother.
I have heart strings that are tugged everyday because of it.
I have so much to learn, but there are a couple of things I am grateful to know right now.
I am grateful to know that I can be happy, here in Nova Scotia, or in any other area of the world because I have been taught how to live.
How to love.
How to give.
How to help.
And how to grow.
I am grateful above all that I know from what source these teachings come.
If this is where I am, this is where I am happy to be.
"Our Future is as Bright as our Faith." -Thomas S. Monson

Jess, you are so amazing! I love your perspective on e.v.e.r.y.thing...you are the greatest! I can't believe you have been there for 9 months already! It seems like I was just at your house as you were getting ready to load the moving truck up. I'm positive that you are a great example and strength to those around you...you alwsys have been! and if you are becoming more like your mom then you're on the right track. She is such a wonderful person!
Sweetest Jess, I loved this post! But not as much as I love you!!! You are the greatest, I mean it. You always have been an example to everyone around you, that is nothing new. I am happy to hear you are happy. You deserve every kind of happiness! You definitely know how to love, give and help. I have been blessed to receive all three from you. Thank you! Thank you for your courage, faith, light, love, and wonderful example. Always remember that "hard" is good. I know must be hard to be so far away but it is definitely a GOOD thing! :)
oh Jess, I don't think you bloom where you are planted - you pretty much come pre-bloomed and ready to beautify anywhere you go!
I am so so so beyond grateful you and yours are here with us and hope Scotia feels more and more like home to you every day!
I love that quote by President Monson you put, perfect and so hopeful. Love. it.
Honestly Jessica, I have always thought that you are a great example of a latter day saint women. You were such a great Relief Society president. Thanks for being such a good example to me.
I can't believe it's been 9 months already! Wow...pretty soon you'll be leaving and wondering where the time went like I am right now. It is a little hard living away but when you have really good friends and support it makes it so much easier!!! I love my Halifax family. Thanks....now you have me tearing up! :)
This year has flown by! I am so glad to have you here and part of our ward. It must be so difficult to be away from your home and family but you are such a great example and doing fabulously here!
I agree that you come "pre-blommed." You are an amazing person and I am amazed by who you are and all you do. 9 months-it seems just like a few months. I guess the saying is, "Time flies when you are having fun." Great quote by President Monson.
Wow!! 9 months for you means about 9 months for us too! Tim flies....sometimes. I hear you on everything you said. My heart strings are tugged at daily, but they seem to just get little longer rather than broken. :) Glad all is well!!
