Mr. Madsen is 10 Months Old

DOO! DOO!

10 Months? Already?! 

Man, I wish time didn't fly so fast. Where did Scotlin's first year go?

My perfect little baby is slowly but surely turning into a big boy. Up until this point Scotlin has been perfectly content to eat, sleep, and drink up anything BABY! He could not get enough of being the baby in this family, and if there ever was a little boy who loved being pampered like a newborn it was him! And I'll tell ya, he milked it for all it was worth. 

Now, at 10 months Scotlin is showing signs he's ready for the next step, and a little more independence.  We are ready too! The last bit has been an exciting mixture of new changes, independence, and basking in his never ending baby-ness. We know all to well it won't last forever.



The first sign of his new found independence is screaming, and getting very upset when he doesn't get what he wants. I watch him and think I am in for a wild ride with this kid. He is starting to realize, but does not enjoy the fact, that life is not all butterflies and rainbows, and there are other things that exist besides his toys like having to nap or going to sleep at night. Which brings me to number two...





#2. Resisting naps and bedtime.

            When you get old and read about yourself as a baby let me just tell you, you were not the best sleeper for your very tired mom and dad. You like the company of others much more than you like to sleep. You like to be held, you like to snuggle and be close. I love it too! But, one day you will be glad there was a limit to your mommy snuggle time. Trust me. You are much the perfect baby. Enjoyable in every way and even when circumstances aren't in your favor.

You are still as easy going as they come. You love your sister, mom, dad, blue blanket, bath time, watermelon, and feeding yourself. You have an intense excitement about life and for people. Your first words besides "mom" and "dad" were "UH-OH!" At 10 months you are crawling, standing, yelling, pinching, grabbing, kissing, and there is not a square inch on your body that isn't ticklish! You are delicious! And loved to the moon and back! You enjoy your new found independence, and we will enjoy every minute of you being our baby while it lasts.
