The Night Before Christmas

After all our guests had gone home, and our kids were tucked in bed for the night, Santa`s little helpers were busy setting up Christmas! Just and I stayed up late assembling their gifts; having a great time, but finding it hard all the while to believe we have kids sleeping upstairs who are aware that tomorrow is christmas morning!! We could not believe we have kids old enough that we had things to be assembling for! It is a fun twist on Christmas. Instead of recieving christmas, we are making it to be recieved.

Here I am helping to set up Scotlin`s toy. Yeah right... Justin did all the work, I just observed, and then hopped in for pictures!!`;) I did my part though, I hosted a special evening, cleaned up, and wrapped gifts.
I know Just was really looking forward to this past, so I didn`t want to stand in his way. ;) Here he is putting Miley`s kitchen set together with love, and no doubt thinking about the expression on her face when she see`s it in the morning!!
Some of the thoughts that went through my mind as we set up our first Christmas away from home were:
How it is hard to believe where we are! I don`t know if I would have believed it if someone told me we would be here in Nova Scotia! But, I am so grateful!
Hard to believe we have two sleeping babies upstairs who rely on us heart and soul. And how lucky and blessed we feel to have them, and are able to create these memories for them.
Of course, my thoughts turned to family. I felt overwhelmed with grattitude as I looked over this room filled with gifts for our children. Gifts that we could not have provided at this stage in the game with out their loving help. I felt like their presents were felt in more than 1 way.
Scotlin`s loot all ready for christmas morning! Dooey got a slide-basketball hoop, a dump truck filled with blocks, a teddy bear, ball, clothes, and candy. He also got refridgerater magnents for Grammy and Papa Prince.
Miley`s loot for christmas morning! She got a kitchen set, and computer (both, she has been dying for!!). She also got a ton of clothes, and shoes, an etch-o-scetch, stickers, a coloring book, and candy! They are going to be so excited!! But, honestly, I may be even more excited to see their faces!
As we finished up, I felt this beautiful feeling of peace settle in this room, knowing that tomorrow morning will bring nothing but happiness, excitement, and smiles.
Good night. Sleep tight.
