This year it was my turn to plan how we spent our anniversary, so I found a sitter (THANK YOU LAURA!!) and bought us tickets to a night out at the theatre for `Romeo and Juliet` Which we thought was pretty great. Half way through the show I surprised Justin with his gift. I saved every letter the two of us have ever written one another since before we were married till now, and gave it to him along with other keepsakes in a homemade book. The book was accompanied with a jar of BYU-USU colored candies too of course. Friday night before heading out to the theatre Justin came home and surprised me with Mr. Scarecrow here, (who Miley loves to hug and kiss) and this lovely boquet of flowers. I love having an anniversary in the fall!
Canadian Thanksgiving is all about celebrating the harvest, so saturday we made another drive out to the beautiful valley.
Fall is in the air! The air is as crisp as the apples. The colors are amazing. The valley, and the orchards are gorgeous and ready for the harvest. It was the perfect outing for a fall afternoon, and holiday weekend, and the best company tops it off.
Taylor `hops-higher-than-a-kangaroo` Farland, Trisha `Ortho`s-dream-come-true` Murray,` ity-bity` Baby K, Jake `magic-hands` Sorenson, and Cory `sweat-pant-pride` Murray.
Let`s face it. Being with these guys makes things more fun. Just beware of flying apples!;)
Me and my Mi Mi.
There is something about picking fresh fresh fruit in an orchard that my kids just love. I don`t think I have one picture of Miley without an apple in her hand, or, um... mouth.
I`ll take these three!
Our little family under the apple trees.
Scotlin just dove right in.
Proof it was a good time. The `Cheese`face says it all.
After all our apples were picked we headed over to the pumpkin patch. Everyone kept asking how much for my little pumpkins....
Sorry. Not for sale. ;)
Scotlin was the king of the pumpkin patch. He was all over, and helping us scope out the best ones. Both kids were pretty much shivering at this point. Scotlin`s nose was bright red, and I am thinking by the look on Miley`s face that she has had enough...
It was kind of chilly, but we had such a great time. Our afternoon in the valley was a success.
We have tons of sweet, delicious apples to get through, and it is fun to have a few festive pumpkins on our front porch.
Now, every time we leave in the car Miley calls out to the pumpkins `Bye Pumpkins! See ya later!`
The rest of the weekend we enjoyed family time together. Justin had the day off on Monday, so we were thankful for another day to spend with him. We are in love with fall! And, now that we have been here over a year, I think I can honestly say October is my favorite month in Nova Scotia.
Happy Thanksgiving from Canada!

great way to spend the Thanksgiving weekend. I was bummed I couldn't make it apple picking...would have been too much with the three kids myself! The apples are so yummy though that Melese brought me. Apple baking in my fall is the best!

I really need to go to the valley. I wish I had more time to spend outdoors. I will gladly babysit for you two anytime. Glad you've got a few more years in NS :)
