Another year has come and gone. It`s been quite a journey for Justin in learning and advancing in Dentistry. He has turned the corner with his knowledge and skills, and is feeling an overall confidence in approaching patients and their problems.
I have seen my close friends go through this year enough to know that we would see Justin very little. It was an exhausting year, that gratefully went by quickly. Even though we didn`t see much of him, it is a privilege for us to watch him grow in his profession, from Student to Doctor. We are proud of him, and all that he gives day after day.
After his final exams the kids and I had a few surprises waiting for him at home. For his Father`s Day gift (Which he got early) we gave him a new golf bag, and so to congratulate him on the completion of the school year we got him a golf caddy to go with his new bag. ( I know little about golf but I have been reassured these were awesome gifts!) :)
Helene, Carolyn, and I also pulled our minds and money together and suprised our husbands with a day pass to the Blue Nose Golf Club in Lunnenburg, NS.
We are all so proud of their hard work, and are happy to see them go enjoy a day out on this gorgeous green together!
As graduation draws near I have been thinking a lot about these two ladies, Helene and Sarah. I feel so lucky to have always made great friends no matter where we live. These two have been my closest friends, greatest support, and example.
Sarah and I grew in ways I never would have expected to create a supportive friendship for one another. She was the first at my doorstep when I couldn`t feed my newborn son, surprising me with her christ-like service and love. We grew even closer while we served together in YW, and again her example never failed to lead and teach me. I am sad to see my biggest supporter leaving this month! :( Helene has been my big sister here. She`s been there every time I needed a laugh, a chat or a hand. She prepped me for everything I would go through in these later years of Dental School. She has been my best friend, and I am so glad we get to have a bonus round with her and her family next year!
Wonderful things can also be said of their spouses. I know if Justin ever had a question, Taylor and Adam always responded with a thought out, helpful, and optimistic answer. There aren`t better footsteps to follow. These guys really have led with the ultimate example, leading their families in righteousness throughout this journey.
The Thompsons and Farlands have been our closest friends throughout the years. We have shared and celebrated every holiday an special occassion together. And from each occassion we have the fondest memories. As third year comes to a close, we are most thankful for these great friends!
We are starting to see that light at the end of the tunnel! And are starting to realize what all of our upper classmates have always said... 4 years goes by in a hurry. They are 4 hard years, and good years too. At times the clock is in slow motion, and at other times it`s flying by, but in the end it`s always an unforgettable experience to look back on. As we watch our close friends graduate and move on, it is almost like watching our journey unfold. We`re grateful for this journey, the hard work it takes, and the good friends that come along the way.
3 down. 1 to go.

YIPPIE!!! Three years down :) :) :)
Every semester is a huge accomplishment, but one whole year complete feels like such a success. Congratulations to the entire family, (for we know this is a family affair) on another year down.
Now you can officially start your countdown to 'a little more normal' life as career people and not students.
hugs and love.
