RAINBOW HAVEN

Justin had a brief break between school years, so we had a small window open for family time.
Some friends suggested we visit a beach called Rainbow Haven that we had not yet seen.
We woke up to another proposed, warm, sunny day and thought checking out the beach would be the perfect way usher in the summer.

When we arrived, I hate to admit that it wasn't quite as warm as we thought it would be. At least not along the coast. It was much warmer closer inland towards our home, but the beach still sounded like a great idea. We weren't the only ones who thought this too, and the kids were already off and running!

There was a long board walk that nearly kept the Ocean from sight until we got to the end. Miley took one look at the beach and sand, and before we could say another word,  had stripped off all of her clothes, and was running out to sea as if just gaining freedom for the first time...

Arms free and flying out to her side, while her little legs did all the work- motoring like a road runner, she took off, leaving us in her dust. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. We tried stopping her for pictures... even talking to her must have been just a blur in her ears... she was completely focused, needing to just own this beach like the air I breath.

Off she ran, and then back again. This repeated at least 12 more times. Completely free.

Then, here comes the big boy... Also completely set on being stripped down. He wasn't sure what was better- the rocks or the sand. He loved it all. Spent quality time taking it all in, but at the same time never hesitating to follow with his big sis, diving right in!

They really were troopers with being wet in the wind, but I knew that wouldn't last too long. Once they had had their fair share of splashing and building sand castles, we were able to get them wrapped, and warmed up. We enjoyed a picnic lunch together, and then decided to go for a nice long walk along the beach. The sand was nice and warm on our toes, but the breeze was still pretty chilly.

Rainbow Haven was another gorgeous spot on the list. We would love to come back again.
It may have been just a bit chilly this time, but it was so nice to get out and enjoy a sunny day!
