It's been a busy month so far.
We wanted to put up some of the recent photos we think are fun, and that kind of sum up a little of what we have been doing.
At the beginning of the month we experienced just a little bit of Hurricane Earl. Miley stood in front of our bedroom windows as the hurricane winds blew through. She was excited when the wind blew the curtains into the air. She was our little Meteorologist that morning... observing and stating "It's kinda windy..."
At a park on the water, near the bridge, next to the train, and by a boat we met up with some friends for a little volleyball.
This month Scotlin baby turned 11 months old. That can't be right can it? He can't possibly be turning one next month? His baby clock is ticking. I try to hold him and rock him in my arms each night before I put him to bed (even though he's basically just crawling all over me the whole time) knowing that soon he will be too grown up.
There is nothing Scotlin loves more than his baby blue blanket. He takes it everywhere, and won't leave his crib without it. He just grabs it by the tip of the corner and drags the rest of the blanket behind him. If he is given his blanket in a wad he can find that corner in the blink of an eye. Its like he has a sensor for it. The way he loves it is adorable, even though carrying around a ratty blanket is not. I don't have the heart to take it away. It's too cute.
There is no way this sweet perfect baby would ever need discipline right? Well, here he is in his first time out. He didn't have a clue what was going on, and just keep slamming the door against the wall. Every time I try to show him any discipline I am struggling the whole time to keep a strait face, and not bust a gut. My heart just melts when I look at him. I can't be mad at that little face.
More blue blanket love.
Every corner of the blanket is tattered and worn because he will suck on them to go to sleep.
Mr. Baby Blue Blanket has seen the washer and dryer many times. Scotlin loves to snuggle up to me with it when it's nice and warm right from the dryer.
He is a crawling, bear crawling, standing, cruising, b-lining-it-for-the-stairs, playing-in-the-toilet, cutting-all-teeth-at-once, getting-into-everything... kind of boy.
He is busy. Busy being fun. Busy being sweet. And busy being completely adorable, which is what he does best.
This month I have been lucky to spend lots of my spare time with my favorite girl friends.
We did a little service project cleaning up the temple grounds.
had a fabulous party to kick off a new school year,

Celebrated babies,

and stayed up late visiting and eating treats. Our favorite! Love these glamour girls!
Lately it feels like the kids are growing up faster than I can record. A whole new 'big girl' world started after Miley turned 2. We love having this beautiful, sweet little girl! She has been a good helper while Dad's been at school. Some of the new and fun things she has been doing lately are:
-Wanting to sleep with at least 4 stuffed animals. Counting to make sure each one is there, and NOT being able to sleep unless they are all in place. 1. Dolly 2. Elmo 3. Rabbit 4. Kitty and blanket
-Loves to play follow the leader, and telling people what to do. "Come on! This way! Follow me!"
-Mothers her baby doll... changing her daiper, feeding her, putting her to sleep with a blanket...
-Saying funny things like "Oh my gosh!" "I wish with all my heart!" "That's PERFECT!" "Wait ONE second, I'll be RIGHT back!" " I missed you!" "I'll do it ALL BY MYSELF!"
-Making up her own words for Black-eyed-peas "Tonight's the night! Let's pump it up! And have some fun! And play with TOYS!..."
And best of all, she is such a loving big sister. One day he will appreciate it ;)
That just about sums up the first half of our month.
We are looking forward to the second half because we have so many exciting things to look forward to. Nothing more exciting though, than seeing Grammy and Papa in 10 days!!
