Rain, Rain, GO AWAY...

These two little cuties have become a tag team for trouble on a daily basis around our place. Things are picking up around here, or maybe it just seems that way to me since I've been slowing down. Gone are the days of full energy, and keeping up with everything, especially these two who are quick and cunning with their trouble making and mess making skills. (Sometimes I can't say that I blame them... rain for weeks on end makes me go a little crazy too.)

As I travel from room to room, mess to mess, almost amazed at the speed, I am reminded of the children's story book- IF YOU GIVE A PIC A PANCAKE. And I have to laugh at how the day begins and then so quickly turns into a series of one thing after another. And so it goes, day after day after day.

These are the days when I just have to smile when I look at this face that I spend my day serving-  into those deep brown eyes and think: `How could I ever have anything but love for you?!...Then I remind myself to take a deep breath and remember that it all goes by too fast, and that I will miss it. And, I don't want to miss a minute.
So I smile, even if it means that I am re-making the beds 3 times, re-stacking the books again and again, wiping down the table for the fifteenth time, or getting out lunch just when I finally got the kitchen clean.

Sometimes when it comes to parenting, and motherhood I honestly don't have a clue what to do. From discipline, to sibling rivalry, teaching reverence, and obedience...There are often many question marks as we go about the day. But, I can easily be reminded however, that even on the hard days, there is nothing else I would rather be doing. At the end of the day we have darn good kids, who we are extremly proud of, and would give our all to teach and train them correctly.

In other news, we packed up and waved goodbye to the Thompson's this week. It was harder to say goodbye to Sarah than I thought it would be. There has been lots of talk about Moving with our kids as they have had lots of questions while watching friends move on. We explain to them that we aren't moving yet, be will be in a year. Miley always gets sad and screams `No!` and then tells us all the people she will miss so much. We always remind her that wonderful people cross our path wherever we go, and we are lucky enough to always have them as friends.

We had a little goodbye, and it was so cute watching the kids run around and play with their friends together. We were tricked into thinking maybe warmer temps we coming, so we all decked out in our summer clothes. We were decided though, because we all froze our buns off. And now the rain has fallen consistently for days... erasing any traces of summer the sunshine had brought.  I'm looking forward to those 2 weeks in August when the sun will shine and we will feel it's warmth before the wet comes again for fall.

EVERYTHING in our climate is SO GREEN and lush! But green and lush comes with a price, and it's called rain, and wet, and mist, and fog.

Scotlin got over his black eye just in time for Miley to get two. She slipped coming up the stairs of our friends deck, and was given a golf ball size goose egg as her prize. She was crying so hard, and the sight of her swelling, bruised and scrapped face was so sad to see. I tried so hard to comfort her but found myself wanting to cry too! I never like to see my little girl hurt or in pain.

My mom flies to Nova Scotia TOMORROW! Can I get a halelujah! We are all so excited, the kids have been counting down the days. She leaves first thing in the morning, and will fly all day. We'll pick her up just before heading to bed for the night! It is such a long day of travel, and I am so grateful she would make that sacrifice to come be here and spend time with us. As her plane prepares to land tomorrow, it will feel more to me like an angel is descending. I am so overjoyed and thrilled to have her company!
