There were too many 'Favorite Days' to count from our trip, but this day definitely goes down as one of my favorites. We planned to spend the day with dad, which speaks for itself in it`s greatness... but the best part about this day (aside from Papa Al) was the fact that we didn`t have much planned at all. Our plans just fell together, and we ended up having so much fun
.
We spent a few hours at dad`s first. He made us a delicious lunch, we got to visit, the kids met the cat, and were loving just being at grandpa`s!
We had planned to head down to Thanksgiving Point... We thought Scotlin would really enjoy seeing the Dinosaur museum, and we were right! He loved it! Justin and his kids also came to jon us, which I always love. Our kids get along like magic, and love being together!
Plus, this place was amazing!
The kids go GAGA over Papa Al!!
The cousins didn`t want to miss the Moniter`s scheduled feeding, so we made sure to watch all the action. Just bringing back childhood trauma...of OUR PET Savana Moniter (That I used to hold like it was a baby.) !! Makes for funny (and kinda sick) memories now. ;) Just another page from the story book of Alan Prince. ;)
Scotlin wanted to ride on Grandpa`s shoulders...
All was well until they went through the dark tunnel representing outterspace.
Scotlin kept screaming through the dark... `get me out of here!`
Dad came out with battle wounds on his forehead from where Scotlin took hold on him with his death grip.
;)
Then he got over it, and wanted to do all his exploring with grandpa... but made sure every dark cave he entered after that was NOT outerspace. ;)
The dinosaur museum has tons to see and do, all very intersting and fun- Perfect place for kids, and beating the scortching summer heat...It was so hot that day...
The best part was watching the cousins loving it together. They are always so sweet with each other, Isaac especially... taking on that oldest cousin role like a pro.
Love being with my dad!
And my boys!!...
Dooey loving it!
Probably one of my favorite pics from the trip...
-We had so much fun- These kids love each other-
Justin is honestly one of the best dad`s ever. His kids already knew everything about the museum because he takes them there all the time. He is so good to take his kids out frequently, and is a great help to Miss. I see what a great dad he is first hand when we are out with our kids together. He is amazing. I love that we are close, and I love when we have the chance to be with him and his family.
The museum was very hands on. (So brilliant!) And the kids loved every minute of that! They spent a good solid 45 minutes at the sand and water; creating, building, and having fun... before we headed off for more exploring. It was so cute the way they were always sticking together.
Love these cutie girls!!
-cutest little cousins-
After the museum the kids wanted to show us the splash pad there at Thanksgiving Point. We didn`t come prepared to swim, but that was the beauty of this day... it didn`t matter. We WERE prepared to have a good time!
The kids got to cool down a bit in the water, and we visited in the shade, whatching them have a ball!
I doubt Isaac can come to this spot without heading to his favorite pond to catch frogs... so he showed us the way along with all the best spots. He and Miley explored the pond for a while, until sure enough, Isaac caught an enormous toad!
The kids were back and forth from the pond, to the splash pad, and running through the caves. We let them play until their faces we`re beat red... loaded them up and finished off with a snow cone.
Truly the best day!
It was the perfect day with Just, kids, and my dad. We had so much fun!
It`s never fun to see days like this one come to an end, but love having the memories.
