Here we are. Over half way through October! The leaves have been so beautiful and vibrant this year. Temps have dropped to the 40's or 30's somedays, and I've wussed out on my morning walks being outdoors... too cold! We have been enjoying our fall, and have lots of catching up to do. Here are just a few things...
Miley had her first Preschool field trip. The school took the kids to the Maratime Fall Fair to check out the animals and exibits. They were also looking for help with the kids, so I volunteered to come along. I was happy to be able to join my girl, and glad Scotlin could come along as well, so he could enjoy a little preschool time too.
Miley has made great friends with these two little Irish girls in her preschool class. They live just up the street, and she is constantly asking for a playdate. I love their red hair and ringlets! They are sweet little girls.
Both kids loved the fair. Scotlin was especially excited about the animal exibits. He wanted a picture in front of each one.
Miley was especially thrilled over the free food samples at the fair. ;) She shoveled in her fair share of kettle corn.
Hatfield Farm had brought a pen of animals for the kids to come inside to feed and pet. Let me tell you, these animals were A-GRESS-IVE. Scotlin had an absolute meltdown because one of the goats literally ate his perschool ID necklace. I had to rescue a few crying preschoolers from the goats who were either trying to jump up on top of, or eat them. I can now testify that 40 pound goats hooves to the pregnant belly don`t feel the greatest.
Scotlin was happier with the cows, and got a little help feeding them from the cowboy. After that he was feeling much better about his necklace. :)
We drove home from the fair and Miley wondered why no other mommy`s came to the field trip with us. I told her I didn`t know why they couldn`t come today and she responded, ``Yeah, just my mommy came today. Beacuse she`s the best!`` :) I was glad Miley was happy to have me there because I loved spending the day with her too.
Later that evening we had plans to pick up daddy from school. We had plans to celebrate successful board exams, so we headed out to Montana's for dinner. The kids got to have their faces painted. Probably the worst painting jobs of all time, but they were thrilled over it. :) We enjoyed our dinner, and just being out together.
Afterwards we decided to take full advantage of our all day fair passes, so we headed back to the fair to show daddy what it was all about. This time we avoided the animal pen, and hit up the bouncy castles instead. The kids milked it all for it was worth to the last drop. That extra hour at the fair was all we needed to make it a great night.
These flowers came from our new Irish friends and neighbors. Made me smile every time I looked at them.
Scotlin and I heading out for one of our Dooey Dates. We have lots of good mornings around here. :)
Love my time with this little man.
Miley got to bring home the Totally Terrific Me Bag from Preschool. She was more than overjoyed by this. The bag comes with a puppet and books inside to enjoy for the weekend. The kids are encouraged to bring in a show and tell when they bring the Me Bag back to school. Before Monday came Miley had already packed her show and tell items all by herself. She put all of her favorite things into a shopping bag, and couldn't wait to go to school to show her friends.
Off to school...
Because of the cooler temps, we have spent lots more time inside painting...
The kids love to display their work.
We also have a little someone around here who has been a tiny bit obsessed with tea parties. We have a tea party everyday. We love this fancy girl.
More from October to come...
