Bedford Favorites

We have two more years in Halifax, and I already miss the Ocean. Meaning, I know there will come a day when I can't step out my front door and look at the ocean, and I already know I am going to miss living by the water so much. Living just minutes away from the Atlantic Ocean is the best part about our experience here.

A close friend of ours always referred to Nova Scotia as "The Diamond in the Rough." There truly are so many marvelous gems everywhere we turn. All around us, we are surrounded by the beauty of this countryside. We live in the community of Bedford, Nova Scotia, and we love it here! We feel like we were lead to the home and area in which we live. Our neighbors and the community have been blessings for our family. Most of our favorite spots are right here in Bedford, close to home, and close to the ocean.

My favorite park to take the kids is Called DeWolf Park. The playground sits right on the Bedford Waterfront. The play set is made to be a large ship. After running and climbing, the kids like to go the the pier and throw rocks into the ocean.

Another pretty spot is a memorial park off the Bedford Highway. I saw it from the car one day when I was driving by, and I feel in love with the historical gazebos amidst all the luscious green! I loved it so much we had our family pictures taken at this park our first year here.

Just a 20 minute stroller walk away from the gazebo is another park along the ocean side. The beautiful scenery, walk, and playground makes such an enjoyable afternoon for everyone.
