Celebrating Canada

We are feeling very fortunate today, to have the opportunity to celebrate the Country in which we live.
144 yrs of Canada, 2 years here as a family, and a Canadian son gives us every reason to celebrate.
Today was our first, and perhaps, only Canada Day. We set out to see that our little Canucks had the best day that Canada had to offer.

O Canada!, Our Home and Native Land!
True Patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on gaurd for thee.

We choose to spend the afternoon at one of our favorite parks close to home.
The Park was celebrating Bedford Days, and all the playground was a carnival!
The kids got to bring their favorite teddy bears to the Teddy Bear Picnic. The Bearametics were on the site to check out the teddy`s and make sure they are in tip top teddy bear shape.

Miley got to go inside the ambulance and help the Bearametics check out her bear named Princess.
Princess had an A+ check up. Miley is doing a great job taking care of Princess because she only needed one bandaid this time. This was a fun event that Miley liked a lot. It gave her a new sense of ownership and responsibility to take her teddy to the doctor, and make sure she was looked after.
One of the highlights of the daycame when the Promised Wonder Pets arrived. We stood in a long, and very hot line to see the Wonder Pets. We weren`t sure if the kids could make it, but they held out strong, and finally made it to the front of the line. Miley gave out loving little hugs to the hampster, and the duck. She didn`t have much time... definitely not as much time as she would have liked with her favorite characters.

A shining moment in the life of Miley J...
She got to pose for a picture with the Wonder Pets, and could not be more full of pride at the moment.
She was as happy as a little girl can be. She was star struck, and couldn`t believe she was actually with the Wonder Pets!!

Our Celebration was a two day event.
We spent a lot of time on the waterfront. Playing at the playground, visiting Theadore Tug Boat, throwing rocks into the ocean, and indulging in Cold Stone ice cream.
It has taken us over two years, but now we can say we have finally had the true Canadian Experience...
We finally had Beaver Tails!
Beaver tails are a traditional Maratime Celebratory fried pastry.
It is basically a massive scone smuthered in outrageously delicious toppings.
It was heavenly. Definitely worth the wait, and worth two major thumbs up!
Canada Day was complete with the Beaver Tail experience!

We had a wonderful day Celebrating the Canadian Nation as a family.
After living here for 4 years we might have good reason to celebrate every year!
Our canucks were happy, so then, so are we!

God Keep our Land Glorious and Free!
O Canada, we stand on gaurd for thee.
O Canada, we stand on gaurd for thee.

Happy Canada Day 2011!
