Summer Babies

Oh, Summer! Welcome to Nova Scotia! It is so good to have you back!
I've decided Nova Scotia has only 2 temperatures: Humid Cold, and Humid Hot. There is no in between, and there in no warning as to how it will vary from one day to the next.
The sun has returned, but with it comes the hot, humid, melty, muggy, heat.
But, hey! We'll take it!
When it warms up here, there is only 1 way to spend the day, and that is in the water.

We headed out this morning to, what we like to call, the splashy playground. It was so nice to be out enjoying the sunshine! The only predicament I found myself in was that Miley was having the time of her life, loving every minute of the splashing fountains, and Scotlin hated every minute of it - He couldn't wait to get out of there! I did all I could think of to help him enjoy himself, but ultimately I failed. The happy child won out though, because watching Miley have a blast was worth holding Scotlin while he whined and cried about it. We did have to head home a little sooner than normal for Dooey's sake though. All about compromise I guess.
Miley is my summer baby. She is pumped full of energy in the sun. With a bucket and a bathing suit, she is completely in her element. She was running and dancing around with delight. Just watching her have so much fun made my entire day. It didn't make my day quiet as much as Scotlin's Swim suits Pants did though.... Haha! Dooey looked like such a stud in his swim trucks. We got his bathing suit last year as a 12-18 month thinking it would fit him this year. Well, it does fit - around the waist. But, poor Dooey is still just a little on the shrimpy side, so his swim shorts fit like long pants. Haha! Little stud rocked it though.

Mi's was making everybody laugh. She would run under the water, run back to us, dance around on the grass, and then tell us all how wet she was. "Take my picture!" She'd say...
Oh, you've just got to love a happy girl.
When we got home, the kids just couldn't sleep through their excitement. Dad filled up their kiddy pool, and, with absolutely no exaggeration, they spent the rest of the day in the water. We had to force them out at bedtime.

It was thrilling to watch them have so much fun. Justin came home one day with this kiddy pool in the back of the car. He found it in our neighborhood with a sign on it that said FREE. So he brought it home. It is the BEST toy the kids have ever had. After the wild afternoon the kids had on the deck, it looked like a toy battlefield out there.
Having sooo much fun!!
We didn't do much more than just sit back and watch them have a blast. We have to take every spare minute we can enjoying this weather, because it doesn't come around often, and it will be gone before we know it. There are 10 other months in the year to get things done in side the house... But for right now, were playing with our kids, and enjoying the summer while it lasts!
