Justin loves Manti like I love Preston, so as soon as we knew there was a trip to Utah in the works we already had in mind where we would love to stay. Gratefully Grandma and Grandpa were gracious enough to open up their home for not only us, but for the whole family, so we could enjoy time being together. Manti was beautiful as always with the temple looking majestic up on the hill.
We enjoyed going on walks around the grounds, 4-wheeling, the turkey farm, delicious food, playing with the babies/kids, and of course lots of visiting!
There is no question why Manti would be so near and dear to my spouse. I am beginning to have many wonderful and fond memories there too! It was delightful to see the kids with their cousins, grandparents and great-grandparents. We had the most wonderful time!
We drove down on a Sunday Morning and were able to attend Church at Grandma and Grandpa's ward. Miley was a new fish in a huge primary for the first time, which she seemed to enjoy. I checked on Scotlin during his nursery hour, and I have never heard a nursery more quiet in my life! How do they do it?!
Third hour was a special presentation from Dr. Aste on his humanitarian Dental work down in the Dom. Rep. I thought it was very touching to hear his testimony of the Lord's hand helping those who we strive to serve. I know Justin is grateful he was able to be on one of the missions with their team.
It was a very special and wonderful sunday being with our whole family!
The following day we headed down to the turkey farm so the kids could take a look at the thousands of turkeys. Miley liked being able to pet them when Grandpa would hold them for her, and Scotlin loved watching them scatter when he would chase after them. The smell of the turkey barn was a little much for this pregnant mamma, so I missed seeing the kids in action, but Justin said Scotlin was loving it~ like a kid in a candy store... except chasing turkeys... :)
~ Love this picture of Grandpa Cox ~
After the turkeys, Grandpa took us down to feed the cows. Grandpa was very sweet with the kids and generous with his time. Very fun and sweet to see them making memories together. :)
Later that evening we were able to take a trip down to Gunnision to visit Grandma Mary Lois. I know how much Justin loves his Grandparents ~ They mean the world to him. I love and admire Mary Lois as well and look up to her in many ways as a woman and mother. She is always so very tender, positive, and sweet. She looked great! And seemed happy as always. So grateful we had the chance to see her, and spend a bit of time together!
The next day some of the boys were up early and hitting up the golf course. And what a beautiful course it is! These guys have some nice form going in these pics, and I can tell they are giving it all they've got... but, Jared wins in the end anyway... I should really say, kills them ~ No surprise there! The kid's a pro!! :) I know Just always loves a golf day with his brothers, and I am always happy to see him go enjoy time with them!
Eventually it was time to leave, and we were of course sad to go. We were happy for the sweet memories we made, and glad to see our kids gain deeper relationships with their grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. I am sure grandma and grandpa were ready to have their home back to some peace and quiet!!... we can't thank them enough for the fun, beautiful, and enjoyable stay there in Manti!
