It was a quick turn around from moving out of our home and getting settled into the hotel all before Justin's Commencement Dinner began that evening. We had made arrangements for Miley and Scotlin to be with Helene and her family, but after the lice scare we thought it would be best not to have our kids together. Luckily Jacalyn came to my rescue again insisting on coming to the hotel and letting the girls swim together. Thanks to her, we were able to go and enjoy the evening worry free.
With our parents there to celebrate with us, this night was truly an honor~ Full of accomplishment and a sense of relief. For the first time in many years we let our shoulders drop, took a deep breath and began to look brightly into the future, and with fondness upon the path that was forged to get there. My heart was bursting with gladness to have arrived at this point in our lives, and to be finally celebrating our graduate! After a lot of hard work, it felt wonderful!
The evening consisted of dinner, speakers, awards, and dancing. We enjoyed the candlelit atmosphere and most of all one another's company! Justin was the recipient of a prestigious integral achievement award marking his fourth year scholarship. It was wonderful to share this moment with so many of our loved ones there. Our moms were in tears. :) Way to go out with a bang Dr. Madsen! We are all so very proud of your dedication and performance these past years.
Everyone visited well into the night. The students, staff, and family mingled and felt the great sense of camaraderie from this group. It was wonderful to see Justin and his classmates celebrating their accomplishment together. Well deserved!
