Elect Ladies

My aunts and cousins planned a day for all the Titensor women to spend time together and with our precious grandmother. Grandma was recently diagnosed with dementia. All of us are feeling the effects of the disease and the limited time we have left with her.
Relatives gathered from across three different states. We met in Salt Lake for breakfast, an afternoon of family history, and then finished with dinner together that night.
It was a precious day. One I hope to never forget. I grew up close to my aunts and girl cousins on my mothers side, so it was wonderful to reunite and feel of the strength the lays in the women of this family.

My aunt Janet came from Seattle, and stayed with us for the weekend. Janet is literally my second mother. She and I have always been close, and I have often turned to her for advice and understanding throughout my life. When we were kids she would answer the phone at our house and pretend to be our mom. We never knew the difference! :) She is very important to me.
We talked for hours on end. Sometimes late into the night, and other times we had to be asked to leave the room so my mom could concentrate on her sunday lesson. :) Even with all that time to visit there is always so much more to say.

Aunt Laura and Mom... 15 months apart!

We rented a hotel for the afternoon to have a place to gather and visit. Grandma brought all of her family books. We went through all the pictures and listened as she told stories. We laughed until we cried, had tears of joy and sorrow too. My Grandmother has lived a beautiful life and leaves us a divine legacy. It was hard to see her struggling to put her words together.
She is truly a angel. We all love her so much!

That afternoon Grandma had asked me if I would give her a makeover and help her with her eyebrows. It was my pleasure! I was so happy to be able to do that for her. I love doing what I do, especially for the ones I love! I think it gave her a little lift in her step to feel just as beautiful as she is.
She is an exquisite beauty!

Laura's other girls were able to join us after traveling from Boise. From left to right: Kami, Natalie, Laura, Kirsten, and Grandma

Dinner together that night. We had the best day together, visiting and laughing!

These women are precious to me.
My Grandmother is a special person in my life. I'll live to admire her example.

Kisses and kisses and kisses~
For days.
XOXOXO
