Loren always loves 'a hat!'
May was the month to celebrate graduates in our family.
Uncle Jason graduated from Physical Therapy school at the University of Utah. We were able to attend and help celebrate his accomplishment.
I love these people!
My sister's painting hangs in the hallway of the Asian Star restaurant. Beautiful little pieces of her talent spread around for all to enjoy and admire.
Miley always gets out of her seat to stand near Loren, holding her hand and hugging her tight while we go through the carwash. Loren get's scared, but Miley is the greatest big sister right there by her side through it all. This scene has my heart every time.
Just hanging with Uncle Trav!
We surprised Rhiannon with a graduation party in honor of her completion of Paramedic school. She has worked so hard! This girl is amazing! She had no clue the whole family would be there. It was a wonderful way to be tribute to her.
My big girl at the playground. She loves to be as big as can be! It's not rare to find her messy from head to toe with hair standing straight on end! She is living and loving life to it's fullest every day!
The Madsen girls were able to enjoy a night out together. We are excited to be growing in numbers! Soon Jordan plans on proposing to our soon to be sister in law, Brittany. We are all so excited!
Brittany seems like a great girl. I loved getting to know her more and hearing a bit of her story.
I have beautiful women in my life!
Brittany, Ashley and Heidi
Scotlin had his preschool field trip to Wheeler Farm.
I have to admit I had times completely mixed up on this morning... it was all I could do to get him there for the last hour to enjoy. He never knew his mom was stressed to the max... (my head was truly no where to be found on this day). I was glad to make it up to him and happy he was enjoying being there with his class... and luckily his sisters too.
All he wanted to do at the farm was, 'hold Mrs. Thompson's hand...'
:)
Miley had a fun run at school. She was originally signed up for the kids run, but once she saw how much fun everyone was having she didn't want to miss out on the 5k. Thanks to Miley's enthusiasm we were part of the race before we knew it! Our girl had her game face on! She was giving it all she's got!... And, we were so proud! She kept calling the run her 'try out' and would get honestly ticked if anyone strolled by in a wagon or stroller... "This is a TRY OUT!" she would say... insisting that everyone push hard and give it their all! ;)
Scotlin did awesome too, and kept up with the pack. He only needed a few stroller breaks. But, he held on to the end, and we were proud of him for coming along with a great attitude.
This was also the first time I had legitimately moved post back surgery, and there was no better way to celebrate than by getting moving again. It felt great! Miley and I were both pretty darn excited and pumped up about it, so we had to come home and take about 100 selfies in the front yard. ;)
I sure do love my girl, and I love the way she gets involved and excited about her school events.
Just for giggles...
Miley's end of the year field trip to the zoo. She has made great friends this year. She had a wonderful start in Kindergarten at Brookwood. Miss Paulsen was an amazing teacher, and Miley thrived in her class. I can honestly tell you Miley went to school happy every day. (It wasn't always the case getting READY for school, but once she was there she was always in a good mood.) I am proud of her for keeping a good attitude all year long. She did her very best work all year, improved and learned so much this year.
I loved volunterring in class and at the school. I made great friends with the other moms as well, and it was always a positive part of my day. I don't know who enjoyed Kindergarten more, Miley, or me... ;)
Miley finished the year strong, and I am so proud of her. Can't believe we are on our way to first grade!!
