Acamdemy of LDS Dentist Dental Conference

A colleague at work mentioned to Justin an upcoming conference for LDS Dentists.
He thought is would be a great way to earn continuing ed, as well as a chance to network.
When looking a little further into the brochure we realized there was a program set up for spouses and families as well. I would have the opportunity to attended classes while he was in his courses as well.
This was something we wanted to do together, so we made a weekend of the two day conference.

The conference was held at the BYU campus in Provo, Utah, and it was a very busy weekend. We thought we were in for a full nights sleep being away from our children, but we were to bed late, and up early probably resulting in less sleep than if we were home. That was okay though, it was still so so wonderful to be together. I love being on my handsome husband's arm!!

I found out the day before our conference that a couple of our very best friends we went to dental school with, Curtis and Jolynne Taylor, were going to be attending as well. I was so excited and happy to be reunited with Curt and Jo! Word could never describe it. They are like family to me. I love them dearly. The Taylor's currently live in Kansas and we haven't seen them in years, so it was a wonderful reunion!

The first morning we divided for classes Jolynne wasn't able to join me, so I was on my own. I entered into a room full of women, and immediately felt this rush of gratitude and privilege to be there. It was moving. I felt touched. It was overwhelming to be there feeling the presence of the first of many blessings dentistry will bring to our lives. It was the feeling of a door opening.

While we were there, we ran into other friends as well. Brock and his wife were some of our best friends when we lived in Logan~
Very fun seeing a happy, familiar face.

We enjoyed our classes. Our days were full and long.
I was happy (happier) when Justin and I were reunited, and our long awaited friends had arrived.
Once we were together, the after party began~ :)
The four of us jumped in a car together and headed off to dinner. I couldn't pick Jo's brain, or fire off my questions fast enough. I have missed her so!
And, the funny thing is, I like Curt just as much... We've got great friends in both of these two.
Between the guys catching up, as well as Jo and myself, dinner could have lasted a lifetime.
We were getting the eye that maybe it was time to move on from our table, so we moved our conversation to the nearest coldstone where we went on and on over ice cream until we were literally not making sense anymore. :)

Being with the Taylors again made this whole thing feel real.
I am so grateful these friendships have stood the test of time and miles.
Justin and I both felt this conference could become a family tradition. I would love it so much if we could make it a place where we could not only bring our family, but also meet up with our dear friends to continue our dedication to the cause that brought us together in the beginning.
Here's to the future~!
