PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND!

This was our first time to Prince Edward Island, and it was AMAZING!!! Beautiful beyond imagination at every turn. We were so glad we were able to make it there this summer. Prince Edward Island is about 3 1/2 hours from where we live. There are only 2 ways to get to the Island, by Ferry or by Bridge. We hear that everyone should experience both, so we decided to take the Ferry there, and then the Bridge Back. We traveled through three Canadian Provinces to get there, and were captivated by the beauty the entire way. After seeing Prince Edward Island I can tell you it is absolutely one of my favorite places in Canada. I am thinking a summer home in the future wouldn't be a bad idea! ;)

Taking the Ferry to P.E.I.!

We arrived early and got ourselves a good spot in this line up. We parked on the boat and then geared up for the 75 minute ride up the Northern Atlantic to Prince Edward Island.

Getting ready to leave the boat dock...
Mid point, up top...
From here we were able to soak in a few rays on our white as can be skin! I can't speak for Scott and Kerri - they were are always tan. But, us whities up here could use a little vitamin D! :)
From the top of the Ferry we saw lots of sea otters poking their little heads up as they swam by.  Way cool wildlife!! We also had a great view of the lighthouses as we approached Prince Edward Island...

Once off the Ferry and on the Island was made our first destination the Point Prim Lighthouse.
I have always loved lighthouses, but that love has definitely grown since living on the coast.
So Beautiful!

I love a picture of my little Nova Scotian in front of a lighthouse.

We were able to tour Point Prim. It was a very steep climb, and such a gorgeous view from the top.

Outside the lighthouse they had a sandbox Miley fell in love with. She really loves to shovel, scoop, pour, and dig in the dirt. She could have stayed for hours. She was mad as a hornet when we had to pull her away. ;(

After checking into our hotel we headed into Charlottetown for dinner.
We ate at this great little restaurant on the corner of Prince Street and Rue.
Charlottetown was adorable. All of PEI was kept immaculately manicured.

We had another wonderful day and night out together. When in Prince Edward Island, you can't help but feel so very fortunate and special to be there. More to come...
