No one looked forward to having grandparents visit more than Miley and Scotlin. Once the kids were onto the fact their grandparents were really coming, it just couldn't happen fast enough. I think we were asked when Grammy and Papa would finally arrive at least 100 times a day. Waiting and anticipating was brutal for the kids, but the reward when their grandparents finally made it here, was oh so sweet.
This was a moment Miley had waited for and looked forward to for a very long time. She woke up and covered her eyes to wait for the best surprise ever...
And then, there they were! I have about twenty pictures of this same setting, and none of them do the scene any justice. Grandma and Grandpa were immediately attacked by these two excited and happy grandkids. The endless hugs, kisses, and showing off lasted for over an hour. The kids wanted to show grammy and papa all their toys, tell them every story, and sing them every song. Justin and I just sat back smiling and thinking, "how sweet is this reunion?!!"
And then it was time for books. If you want to get to know Scotlin better, then you have to be willing to dive into the books with him. He showed grandpa the way to do it bright and early the first day. Grandpa was more than happy to read, and so that made for one very happy little Dooey.
More books, more books, and more books! The grandparents know our love for books, and so they came baring gifts for the kids. Miley and Scotlin LOVE their new books, and we read them everyday. This particular morning the books were a huge hit. Watching the four of them together melts my heart.
